20 Dec

Gabby Oloapu has been named in High Performance Sport New Zealand's latest intake of their Te Hāpaitanga programme, with Oloapu one of just eight successful candidates from across the nation.

For those that aren't aware, Te Hāpaitanga is a holistic coach development initiative that aims to enable more women to pursue and maintain careers in high performance coaching in New Zealand. The 18-month initiative provides a range of opportunities to test and develop one's coaching capability, and to develop new skills to navigate a complex and challenging career in high performance sport.

High Performance Sport New Zealand's Te Hāpaitanga programme lead, Jody Cameron, says the eight successful candidates were carefully chosen based on their potential to excel in high performance coaching and their alignment with the programme’s overarching goals of growth, leadership and capability within the coaching space.

Te Hāpaitanga and its carefully structured programme components will enable the participants to building strong professional networks, supported by mentors and peers, to enhance their influence within their respective sports.

Congratulations, Gabby - we can't wait to see you develop further as a coach through this incredible initiative!
