Westlake Boys High School - Coaching Opportunities
WBHS Water Polo is seeking expressions of interest for qualified water polo coaches who are interested in being part of a dynamic program of enthusiastic and talented players. We are a program that prides ourselves on a positive team focussed culture, hard work, and love of the sport. We are looking for coaches for our senior program working with both our Premier and A2 teams starting Monday 20th January – Tuesday 22nd April with potential for contract extension into our Junior program and future senior seasons.

NZWP VOLUNTEER VACANCIES
Board Director - 3 vacant positions at 2025 AGM
The NZWP Board wish to advise there will be three positions vacant at the April 5th 2025 AGM. Three directors will be retiring/rotating, two of these directors are re standing and one is retiring; the Board seek applications for two elected positions and one appointed position.
In this cycle, due to the rotation, the skill set we are specifically considering will be from applicants with knowledge and experience in any of – legal services and compliance, High Performance/Performance sport (either as an athlete, coach or senior administrator), the NZ Sport system, the sport of water polo (as a player, coach or senior administrator), and membership services.
Directors terms are 3 years, with a maximum of 9 years consecutive. The positions are not remunerated however expenses will be reimbursed. The Board meets 6-8 times per year either face to face (usually Auckland) or virtually. The Board comprises four elected and four appointed members.
We welcome suitably qualified applicants from across New Zealand.

Two current directors are re standing and one is not.
Applicants are invited to indicate their preference to be considered for either appointed, elected or both vacancies.

National Teams Selection Panel
NZ Water Polo (NZWP) is seeking to recruit and appoint suitably qualified and experienced people to its National Teams Selection Panel.
This role will involve selecting for the National Representative Teams including U16, U18, U20 and Senior World Aquatics World Championships, Olympic Games, Australian State Championships and any other pinnacle events. Selectors must:
- follow a transparent, unbiased, and understood selection system for NZWP athletes and coaches
- ensure all criteria is met in accordance with the selection policies and processes
- select athletes to National Representative teams in a timely and professional manner
- select athletes in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures
- maintain appropriate level of contact with the other members of the Selection Panel and the Convener to enable fulfilment of the role
- assist with input, reviewing and feedback regarding the selection criteria, plans, processes and policies as required
- be available throughout all processes
