New Zealand men kick-start NSW Super League with one win from four games
The 2024 Water Polo NSW Super League begun last week in Sydney, with a team of 13 senior men travelling across the ditch to represent New Zealand.
After arriving in Australia on Wednesday 2 October, the team took on their first game the following day when they faced off against Cronulla. It was a tough opening game for the Kiwi squad, who went down 17-7 to the local team.
The team's second game was much closer, with the match going down to the wire and just one goal separating UTS Balmain and our senior men at the finish - with Balmain narrowly taking the win.
The following day, New Zealand took on Drummoyne Devils - one of the largest water polo clubs in Australia. Drummoyne ended up victorious over our New Zealand men, winning 11-7.
The final match of the opening round saw our New Zealand men take their first win, dominating Hunter Hurricanes to win by seven goals (7-14).
Our senior men will be back in action across the ditch for three further games of the NSW Super League from Friday 15 November.
